For a long time, more and more animals in Thailand are in danger. Initially, it was about the recurring and longer-lasting drought, which made it increasingly difficult for animals to get a drink.

Fewer and fewer tourists came to Thailand in the past period, so that food also became scarcer. Just think of the article about the many macaques, which visited the more inhabited world and therefore caused a nuisance. Tourists often fed these animals and there was still plenty to get from the temples. These food sources are now at a standstill.

Finally, the corona crisis has now been added. The government has decided to close off certain areas such as parks to discourage gatherings and to promote greater distance between people. By order of the governor of Chonburi, this measure is in force throughout the province.

One of the areas that is partially closed off is the Pattaya Hill. Apart from the residents, there are few tourists anymore. However, the many stray dogs have not diminished. With an almost total lack of tourists and other people in these areas due to Covid19, the supply of food has plummeted. Now these animals depend on some residents who still help with food and water, but that cannot be maintained for long. They have asked the Pattaya City to help and do something about this.

It is hoped that Pattaya City will recognize the problem and help these animals through this period.

I think the solution is obvious…. Not ?

Exactly Ronny that's why we now have the Coronavirus to protect the animals and to show the people their place again.
      That's what you mean.

      • RonnyLatYa says up

Indeed. That's exactly what I mean.

Humans have caused there to be too many stray dogs, so they should reduce them as well.

The virus will take care of us…

I look at it as an animal lover….

    Oh yes, of course!

If you close off a few hectares of parkland in a city, the average distance between people is of course greater.

I think it would be better to do something about the population of the dogs. Don't forget that people also live on Budha Hill. These stray dogs have become a nuisance and the municipality should do something about it. When they run out of food, they become dangerous.

And those who try to solve the problem with a cookie…

Who's talking about bad dogs. We're talking about hungry dogs and the overpopulation. The municipality must take action on this.
The residents at Budha are really not happy with those figures who come to feed the stray dogs. That's why more and more are coming.
Why don't people feed the dogs in their own neighborhood? Well, because they don't like them there. So put the problems elsewhere.

You do have very bad dogs!!!
I love nature, so I love people and animals! I am an avid cyclist! Both near Chiangmai and in Isarn.
In the beginning: dog biscuits, did little. Then a bowl of stones, goes a little better. Now along the bar of my bicycle: a bamboo straw! That "swish" !
And that helps. You are guaranteed rabies from a stray dog bite! Healing takes a long time, injections, necessary after a dog bite, are expensive. In addition, 60.000 people die each year from rabies/rabies.

With us, animals are castrated, I have never seen this in Thailand. The pill is also very effective for a female, it costs 35 baht and is effective for 3 months. Why are there street dogs anyway? Maybe because people take such good care of their animals?

My colleague had all his dogs (6) neutered or sterilized at a pet clinic in Bangkok.

They should require anyone who owns dogs or cats to have them spayed or neutered. If people are so cowardly as to put the "beloved" animals on the street, they can certainly not provide even more growth. The huge amounts of howling and barking dogs at night is not exactly a pleasant hearing here in Thailand.
Yes, I also have a neutered hangover, he has to come in at night and I take care of him with all my love until he dies of old age or is bitten to death by one of those "sweet" stray dogs that can't get enough of a dog biscuit.
