Pattaya's beaches are open to the public again today. The municipality of Pattaya decided to close the beaches at the beginning of last month after it appeared that groups did not comply with the distance rules related to corona.

A number of Thais walk a bit awkwardly to the tide line, yes it is allowed again. Striking are the blades of grass and the weeds that rise above the grains of sand. Where people stay away, nature seizes its chance.

Those who want can go to the beaches of Pattaya Beach, Jomtien Beach, Pratamnak Beach, Cozy Beach, Wongamat Beach, Kratinglai Beach, Yin Yom Beach, Lan Po Naklua Garden and Bali Hai Pier. However, the prevention rules regarding Covid-19 continue to apply. So keep enough distance. The renters of sun loungers must place the chairs at least one meter apart.

Slowly we go back to normal life, a sigh of relief.

Today I drove from Jomtien to Najomtien. Although the beaches were open, there was not a single chair on the entire stretch! So you can't sit anywhere…

That's right, the owners don't see the point in putting up chairs when there are no tourists. Costs higher than revenue.
