Singapore's intelligence service has warned Thailand about three Turks who may want to carry out attacks in Thailand. These attacks should mainly affect Chinese interests in Thailand. The Turks want to strike against the Chinese for the oppression of the Uighurs, a Turkish people from the Chinese autonomous region of Sinkiang (Xinjiang).

One of the three suspects, Ali Yalsin, visited Thailand last month. On his arrival he was questioned by immigration, who keep a close eye on Turks in particular.

Yalsin was accompanied by a compatriot, who has not been named by Singapore. Both men have been blacklisted by immigration. The Turks have been spotted in Bangkok and Phuket, and the Thai police are trying to track them down.

Nathathorn, head of immigration, denies any connection with two Uighur Uighur who came to Thailand earlier. These men were also associated with possible attacks on Chinese people. According to the Thai security service, there is currently no serious security risk.

  1. Jacques says up

I think we can gradually say that there is a security risk everywhere, including in Thailand and I hope that these kinds of reports are not taken lightly by the authorities. What a mess in the world. People trying to kill each other, it's getting worse. The Muslim spring that has now become a Muslim winter. Now Turkey again, which wants to assert itself under the reign of the current autocrat. Aggrieved figures who cannot tolerate comment. The Middle East and Africa that are emptying to Europe, which is seen as Valhalla, but of course it is not. I had hoped that my departure to Thailand would give some peace of mind, but that is a vain hope, because it continues to haunt you. The only remedy is not to think too much, and I am, by experience, bad at that.
We will have much more calamity ahead of us and hopefully you and I will be spared from this.
Reality is harsh and often hits the innocent. And now let's see what the future brings.
