Schiphol can call itself the second aviation hub in the world. After Frankfurt am Main Airport, Schiphol has the largest number of possible connections: over 52.000. Charles de Gaulle airport near Paris is in third place, NOS writes.

Commissioned by the international airport organization Airport Council International (ACI), the Economic Research Foundation (SEO) looked at the route networks of all airports worldwide. This shows that European airports are by far the best connected to other parts of the world compared to, for example, American and Asian airports.

Within Europe, Schiphol ranks third in terms of passenger numbers, after London Heathrow and Charles de Gaulle. In the first half of 2016, 29,7 million people flew via Amsterdam. That is almost 10 percent more than in the same period last year. The number of passengers flying via Frankfurt actually fell.

This is good news for Schiphol, which has recently been struggling with its position as an international hub. The airport wants to continue to grow, but will have to look at other airlines than just KLM.

'The blue bird' suffers from competition from low-cost carriers and companies from the Middle East. That is why Schiphol received more flights from EasyJet and Vueling in the past six months and Jet Airways, China Eastern and Aeromexico now also land at the airport.

And a few (top} people at Schiphol are once again proud and deserve another bonus
Where are we with our national Co2 emission targets, will they also go up in the air?
It just goes to show that society is full of opposing obsessions.

The fact that Jet Airways (from India) has moved its flights from Brussels to Amsterdam is, in my opinion, the result of the frequent strikes in Belgium. This airline flew from India to the US with a stopover in Brussels.

Easyjet (GB) and Vueling (Spain) are also very common in Brussels. I think those two have expanded their range considerably.

Jet Airways is not an asset from Amsterdam. Delays of 2 to 3 hours are no exception this summer. Moreover, the stopover in Mumbai is a real disaster. There is a good chance that you will miss the connection to BKK because of the security checks, the very short transfer time there and the chaos at the airport.

Thank you for this (very) useful info. Very interesting to know. I have never (yet) flown with Jet Airways.

Done once with Jet Airways Brussels-Bangkok with transfer in Delhi.

For completely unclear reasons, Jet Airways managed to miss the internal connecting flight in Delhi. A group of transit travelers of around 25 people was literally “held in custody” for 24 hours in the Delhi transit area until the Delhi-Bangkok evening flight the next day.

Filthy, dirty, unfriendly to the beasts and the only courtesy is a handful of rupees to spin Indian junk food from a vending machine. We were all locked up together for XNUMX hours in a glass cage with a few hard benches on which we could lie down for a few hours. The whole time, the neon lights stayed on at full blast in that cage. The control knob for those lamps was outside that cage. There was no sleeping.

Compensation claim filed along with many other victims. Only response: "Sorry, force majeure due to poor visibility, so no compensation possible." “Hello, what poor visibility.” "You see. You couldn't see because of poor visibility". Would “Customer” rhyme with “Kl…” in Indian?

Jet Airways. No Thanks. Never again. I have already resolved to warn other travelers about the practices of this company.

The move from Jet Airways to AMS is obviously unrelated to rates and “facilities” for transportation and clearance of “small stones”. And if there is anything to do with it, it can of course not be communicated ... for security reasons? 🙂
