Last minute up holiday going has never been more popular. 40% of the Dutch people book their flight ticket within a month before departure.

This is evident from the booking results of travel organization World Ticket Center. In the same period last year, 32% still booked within a month before departure flight tickets and 34% in 2009.

The booking results for 2011 show that 14% of those booked last minutes buy their flight tickets within 6 days before departure, 30% one week before departure, 22% two weeks, 18% three weeks and 16% book their flight tickets 4 weeks before departure .

It is a striking fact that this trend is now also committed to individual airline tickets, as airline ticket prices are often made more expensive shortly on the departure date by the airlines and early booking is actually cheaper, in contrast to package holidays (last-minute sun holidays).

Bangkok

After London, the most popular last-minute destinations are remarkably two distant destinations: New York (two weeks before departure) and Bangkok (three weeks before departure). New York and Bangkok have never before been booked en masse so close to departure. In previous years, European destinations topped the list of most popular last-minute destinations.

Social media

Particularly since the end of May, there has been a huge increase in turnover from bookings with departure periods within a month. The holiday pay received has undoubtedly contributed to this, but the consumer's travel attitude has also changed. The Dutch are no longer limited to European destinations and a short flight time if they want to get away spontaneously. Their choice is increasingly determined by temporary discount promotions and tips from friends on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

Usually book my ticket for TH about 3 months in advance. This time too and then go arrange my visa at the embassy in The Hague. So at the beginning of June I passed by the embassy (I'm leaving on September 2) but this time I was advised to come back next month, because the visa application has to be done within 3 months and suppose my flight is canceled and I later I run the risk that my applied for visa has already expired. According to the embassy employee.

Was looking for a single ticket bkk ams on June 30th, at Eva air just under 20.000 thb, think ok go book tomorrow, now suddenly almost 01 thb as of 07-27.000, bah.

Egypt air turns out to be the cheapest for those who don't mind switching, or air berlin who don't care about comfort. Good middle ground china airlines direct and comfortable.

Egypt Air has apparently changed its policy because the tickets are suddenly 200 to 300 euros more expensive and cheap offers up to 600 euros have disappeared. I don't know why, but at these prices it is better to book with KLM, for example, with a direct flight.

egyptian one way ticket bkk ams 378 euro klm 49000,00 thb per 02-07 so please explain

I looked at flights in October and January, which were 10 days ago still Euro 600 and Euro 540 and now between Euro 800 and Euro 900, so just as expensive as direct flights with KLM while Air Berlin is cheaper. So the Egyptians may have to pay the cost of the velvet revolution or they may have changed their minds and no longer want to be the cheapest. I don't believe that they will still receive many passengers from/to Amsterdam.
