Airports of Thailand will probably give the green light for the master plan for Don Mueang airport in a few weeks.

The plan includes that the old terminal will be refurbished and a new terminal will be connected to the Red Line, a Skytrain connection between Bang Sue and Rangsit that is under construction (under construction). Furthermore, an extension of the Airport Rail Link to Phaya Thai is planned and a parking garage is to be built. The total cost of the plan is 10 billion baht.

This third phase should be completed in 2021. The airport will then have a capacity of 40 million passengers per year. There are now 28 million.

The renovated terminal 2 will officially open next Tuesday. Some parts of Terminal 1 will temporarily close for equipment modernization. Terminal 2 serves domestic flights and Terminal 1 international.

That's fine, but it would also be advisable to make a direct connection between the two airports, that would make transit a lot easier.

10 billion baht and how much is actually spent on the airport? Another nice amount to let the corrupt people benefit from.

Don Mueang is now a horror with all our "friends" from China. Nice shouting, nice rying, doing everything nice and loud. Yes, Thailand must be really happy with the Chinese.

It is of course a shame that there is not just one large airport. Moreover: how am I supposed to get to that old, ever-expanding airport from Pattaya in particular? While the modern BKK can be reached quickly (within 2 hours) and cheaply (122 Baht). It costs me a good price (for a good hotel indeed, but you have to add that price to your flight price) to be able to fly away at 10:XNUMX in the morning to, for example, Mandalay. Sorry for the typos but I don't know how to reset the cursor. Greetings, Wim.
