Ethiad from Schiphol to Abu Dhabi

The Arab airline Etihad Airways will operate scheduled services from Schiphol to Abu Dhabi. This offers additional opportunities for Dutch travelers traveling from Schiphol to Bangkok airport want to fly and don't mind a stopover.

Collaboration Air France-KLM

Currently, Etihad only operates cargo flights from Schiphol Airport. The new scheduled service is the result of the collaboration with Air France-KLM. Earlier, Etihad Airways started a partnership with Air Berlin, in which Etihad has an interest of almost 30 percent.

It brought the company $ 9 million in sales in the first 51 months of the year. Total revenue from partnerships increased by more than half to $182 million in the third quarter. In total, Etihad has 38 partners with which it can offer 315 destinations. No other airline in the Middle East has such an extensive network, the airline claims.

Flights Bangkok

The daily flights to Abu Dhabi should be a fact before the summer. Etihad Airways will probably fly an Airbus A330-200 (262 seats) on this route. From Abu Dhabi, passengers have the option of transferring to various flights to Asia, including Bangkok.

This in itself is not wrong, but as always it depends on the price,
1 switch is quite doable if you go to [as we do] for several months
    Thailand goes.

in response to Bert van Hees' response, is also our experience with Cathay Pacific in Hong Kong. Only standing in line during the "pleasant" transfer hours.
Is simply worthless if this is also applied with the Schiphol – BKK link.

Super for the Dutch… We Belgians have been enjoying that for a while… Ethiad provides a SUPER service and no long transfer times to Bangkok or Phuket…. A few hours off the plane is very relaxing… than a continuous flight of 11 hours.

Had the Air Berlin/Etihad flight from Duesseldorf to Phuket last December and January. Both in Duesseldorf and Phuket I only received a boarding pass for the first route. For the second part I had to get a boarding pass at Abu Dhabi airport. That's one hell of an exercise. Just stood in line the entire stop. Not being able to drink anything, not going to the toilet, let alone a walk through the duty free shops.
I am fed up with this appalling "service".

  4. Editor's note: Etihad Airways will launch its scheduled service between Schiphol and Abu Dhabi on 15 May. The airline operates daily flights between the two hubs, working closely with KLM.

Etihad comes to Schiphol every day with an Airbus A330-200, which can accommodate 22 passengers in Business and 240 in Economy Class. The scheduled service comes in addition to the existing flights that KLM already operates to Abu Dhabi.

From the summer, KLM's flight frequency will increase to daily, so that two flights will depart for Abu Dhabi every day. Both airlines place each other's flight codes on the flights.

I wonder how it will turn out with the passengers who fly from Dusseldorf with Air Berlin and then transfer in Abu Dhabi to Bangkok.
