Emirates 'Best Airline in 2014'
Emirates, the flag carrier of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has been named 'Best Airline in 2014' by eDreams, one of the largest online travel companies in Europe.
The website conducts this annual survey among its customers and for this purpose more than 90.000 reviews from passengers all over the world were examined. Travelers who had booked a ticket through eDreams were able to leave a review after their flight about their experience with the airline. This resulted in a total score and the best company was chosen. The airline could be judged on several aspects such as: best entertainment system, best baggage handling, aircraft condition and more.
Emirates wins a lot and achieved the highest score with an average rating of 4,24 out of 5. Emirates also scored highest on aspects such as cleanliness, modernity of the aircraft, best in-flight entertainment, best service on board, best VIP lounges and best luggage handling.
That's personal then. I'd rather fly 2x 6 hours than 1x 11 hours.
In terms of service, Emirates is really much better than China Airlines and better than EVA Air. And KLM…. well, it does say something if you don't take enough fuel with you on a direct flight from Bangkok and have to make a stopover in Frankfurt. Yes, you read that right; Too little fuel taken… flight KL876 23-01-2015…. Delayed for 2,5 hours due to an unplanned stopover in Frankfurt to refuel. I'm afraid the captain has some explaining to do at his next performance review.

I recently flew to the Netherlands.
Headwind of 100 kilometers per hour, almost the entire flight.
Then it may happen that your tank becomes empty.
Can agree with me in this review. I have never stepped off a plane dissatisfied. Everything tippy top! Ideal for me as a stopover and preferably arriving very early and going to the final destination in the evening! Have a wonderful day in Dubai! Bored at the airport I often read? I don't know, because I never stay there!
Hello Thai bloggers.
Last year I also flew with emirates from brussels 04/11/2014 and back 04/12/2014 with transfer dubai bkk for me no longer concerns 777/300 type, bad configuration concerns the seats 3-4-3 very narrow seats, on landing dubai by bus (packed) to the hall for departure and on return flight bkk dubai idem a ride of about +- 20 minutes. there are better companies regarding seating arrangement and arrival at a gate. Next time with thai airwais.
I largely agree with the rating. Just got back from BKK after a great flight. Excellent service, extensive entertainment program and seat reserved in advance. BKK-Dubai with the Boeing and the 2nd leg in the mega Airbus. Generous baggage policy, unlike other carriers such as KLM who are very strict. Only remark: incoming flight from HK to BKK was delayed, which could jeopardize connection in Dubai. In the end, there was still plenty of time for the transfer in Dubai (no full bus, boarding via the gate), but the crew could not provide any or only vague information about how and whether the connection would be made. A minus for this because they let you worry unnecessarily.
For the rest: congratulations!
I am also very lucky to be flying with Emirates in April!
a stopover is very welcome to me, about halfway through the entire journey.
time for a cigarette and stretch your legs.
1,5 hours will be over in no time, and then you will start the last 6-hour stretch to Bangkok.
I don't want anything else, just give me a short stopover.
It is also cheaper than a direct flight from a price point of view .
voor mijn reis op 8 april tot 24 april betaalde ik 449 euro !!
anyway, still wish you a pleasant journey if you are going to fly !!
regards
Bart Hoevenaars
Agree with Bart (except the cigarette)
Everything at Emirates is correct and this at a super low price fly in May for 482 euros
Just come here to other major carriers.
Tip stay in Dubai for a few days before you fly on highlights At the highest
building of the world stands 840 meters the Burj Dubai and the unforgettable dune safari.
Can be booked from the Netherlands for next to nothing.
Then fly fresh to your final destination and don't come out of the plane like a roller mops.
Incidentally, you can also buy cheaper cigarettes in Dubai than in Thailand, and there are also no annoying photos. I did hear that the Thai customs recently more actively checks the import of (too many) cigarettes.
Possibly, but if you want to change a flight, you pay 450 euros extra per person.
Tried everything not to have to pay but emirates persisted and we had to go back.
En op een vlucht naar australie, was de service met qantas, retour, stukken beter.
So no more emirates for me.
Years ago I flew to Bangkok with Martinair, that was really a disaster. 2 hour fuel stop in Dubai and then on again. You are much more comfortable in a city bus. Last years with Eva or China air and we like that very much. No more stopover for us.
Many companies each have their advantages and disadvantages, we miss Cathay Pacific here. Just flew and did Hong Kong on the way back. Excellent service and quite a lot of space in economy and I don't have a size 38.
Only a few kilos for luggage fortunately the hand luggage was not weighed. I think my handbag was heavier than my suitcase. Please note that excess baggage is very expensive.
