Thailand visa question No. 197/20: Can I convert a Non-immigrant OA to Non-immigrant O in Thailand?

Can you convert a non-immigrant OA visa (withdrawal) into a non-immigrant O visa at the immigration service in Thailand or does that have to be done via the embassy in your country of origin?

No, you normally can't.
You can change the “Category” of the visa ie from “Tourist” to “Non-immigrant”, but not the “Type” ie from “AO” to “O”.
Converting a “Category” visa is almost always accepted in normal circumstances. If you can meet the conditions of course. Whether that will also be the case with the current corona measures, I cannot say.
To convert your “type” of visa, you must leave Thailand and apply for a new visa at an embassy/consulate where that “type” of visa is available.
