Questioner: Luc

Tourist visa “TR” – 'One entry'. Are documents required to extend this visa by a month? This is because you only get 59 days upon arrival.

Reply RonnyLatya

You cannot extend the tourist visa itself. However, you can extend the stay of 60 days (not 59 days), obtained with that tourist visa, once by 30 days. Costs 1900 Baht.

Forms (General and depends on your immigration office.)

– Form TM7 – Extension of temporary stay in the Kingdom – Completed and signed.

https://www.immigration.go.th/download/ zie Nr 14

– Recent passport photo(s) (4×6)

– 1900 Baht for the extension

- Passport

– Copy of passport page with personal data

– Copy passport page with the “Arrival stamp”

– Copy passport page with “Visa”

– Copy of the TM6 -Departure card

– Copy of the TM30 notification -Notification for housemaster, owner or the possessor of the residence where alien has stayed (not everywhere)

– Financial resources of at least 20.000 Baht. (not everywhere)

– Proof (eg a plane ticket) that you will leave Thailand within 30 days. (not everywhere)

For your information. At the moment it still applies that you can stay until July 31, 20 and you do not have to ask for an extension. What will happen next remains to be seen.
