Questioner: Marc S

My visa expires on July 15. But now my flight has already been canceled for the third time and I would not be able to return to Belgium until August 2 (hopefully). Does anyone know what I should do now?

I guess you mean your period of stay expires on July 15th.

1. You can stay until July 31 without being charged an overstay.

I don't know what will apply from July 31. There is no information about that yet.

The period can be extended. Or they give you the option to extend and in the worst case you have to go outside. The latter is not bad in itself, but what will be the conditions to come back in?

2. If that period of stay has been obtained with an annual extension, you simply have to apply for a new annual extension before 15 July, just as before.

3. If the automatic extension would not be extended beyond July 31, August 2 is of course an edge case where you will probably experience few problems at the airport, I think.

However, it remains to be seen what will be decided on what will happen to the residence periods of many after July 31

  1. Gerbrand says up

is in the same situation, NON O annual visa applied for in NL, so a border run every 3 months. Not until July 31, but my visa is valid until August 8, 2020. If I can make another visa run before then, I have 3 months to do, otherwise I have to go back to NL and then just wait and see.
    Or anyone have another idea
