Questioner: Tony

I, young man of 77, want to travel to Thailand from 10-12-22 for 90 days. Required health insurance for a 90-day Non O visa costs me approx. eur 1.000, which is a lot of beers.

I want to apply for a 60 day METV now. Can the extension of this visa be done at immigraton in Jomtien or do I have to leave the country for one or two days. Or advises you to enter Thailand on a 45-day tourist visa and to extend this by 45 days at immigration Jomtien.

A METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa) is not required. You're only going for 90 days anyway. A Tourist Visa Single is sufficient. You get 60 days upon entry and you can extend it at immigration with 30 days. (1900 Baht)

CATEGORY 1 : Tourism and recreation related visit

Tourism/Leisure activities

VISA TYPE: Tourist Visa (60 days stay)

FAIRY:

EUR 35 for single entry (3 months validity)
