Questioner: Jean-Pierre

I want to go to Thailand for 3 months in September and I am applying for an E-visa. I thought to do this via a tourist visa for 60 days and extend it in Thailand for another 30 days. Now I'm in doubt about 2 questions that I come across, what exactly should I upload.

It concerns question 7: Confirmation of legal residence in a country in which you are applying for the visa. (In case that you are not a national of the country in which you are applying for the visa.)

And question 9: Applicant must apply for e-Visa via specific Embassy/Consulate conforming with his/her consular jurisdiction and residency. Applicant is required to upload document that can verify his/her current residency.

I have translated it via translate, but even then it is not clear to me what they want from me?

Can you tell me what exactly they mean by this, and what they want from me?

Thanks in advance for your response!

Question 7: Confirmation of legal residence in a country in which you are applying for the visa. (In case that you are not a national of the country in which you are applying for the visa.)

You must prove legal residence in a country, but it also says in brackets (In case that you are not a national of the country in which you are applying for the visa.).

If you are a Dutch national, you do not have to prove this if you send the application to the Thai embassy in The Hague.

If you are Belgian, you do not have to prove this if you send the application to the Thai embassy in Brussels.

You can always upload your passport again if it remains a required field.

Question 9: Applicant must apply for e-Visa via specific Embassy/Consulate conforming with his/her consular jurisdiction and residency. Applicant is required to upload document that can verify his/her current residency.

This means that if you live in the Netherlands, you must address the application to the Thai embassy in The Hague and not, for example, that of Brussels.

If you live in Belgium, you must address the application to the Thai embassy in Brussels and not to the one in The Hague, among others.

For example, it says Proof of your current residency eg Dutch passport, Dutch resident permit, utility bill, etc.

Your passport is sufficient here.

Please note that it is especially important that you upload the proofs requested in this link and not just those on the eVisa.
