Thailand Visa question No. 274/21: Which visa for 4 months?
Questioner: Paul
Thank you for helping people as best as possible for years, fantastic. My question, we, girlfriend and myself, have been going to Phuket for years where we rent an apartment on an annual basis. So every year we take a visa for 6 months, a multiple entry.
This year we should not ask this as the countries besides Thailand are not a solution for a re-entry. We want to go from the beginning of December to the end of March, so 4 months.
How are we going to solve that best?
Your advice please. Thanks for that.

It is difficult to choose 4 months now that the borders are still closed by land.
90 days is no problem. You can ask for a Non-immigrant O which gives you 90 days, or a Tourist visa which gives you 60 days and which you can extend for 30 days at immigration.
If you have managed to open the borders again in the meantime, you can then link another 30 days of Visa Exemption to it, which you can also extend by 30 days. If a “border run” is still not possible then you have to go back after 90 days of course.
Or maybe consider an STV right away? A lot of requirements, but you can stay in Thailand for 3 x 90 days.
