Questioner: Rob

I just read that you can apply for your visa in The Hague by e-mail. Is that true? You will no longer get a sticker in your passport.

What about the rest of the paper shop?

  • Passport
  • Bank statements
  • residence.
  • Flight tickets

Do you have to download and forward copies of everything? It would be a godsend. No travel time and extra costs to The Hague up and down 2x.

I hope it continues. But I wait.

I would love to hear from you

– Why would the embassy put such a thing on its website if it were not true?

“The Embassy is preparing to launch a new online visa service: E-visa by the end of November 2021. E-visa will allow visa applicants to complete the entire visa application process online. No visa sticker will be affixed on your passport page. Applicants will no longer be required to make an appointment to visit the Embassy.”

You will probably have to upload the items that are requested. If it is approved you will probably receive a confirmation via email or you can download that proof via the link. You will then have to give this together with your passport to the immigration officer upon entry.

I think there will be more news about that soon. I can't tell you more about it the day after it appeared.
