Questioner: Peter

I will soon be applying for a visa to visit my girlfriend. Normally I always go less than 30 days but since I will stay for 2 months this time this is my first request. My question is about the invitation letter she has to write.

Is there a model form for this? Do you have examples of letters that you have already used successfully? And what language is this best written in?

I assume with this question that you are going to apply for your “Tourist Visa” in Brussels. This is also possible in Antwerp, of course. According to their website, they do indeed require an invitation letter if you are not staying at a hotel but with a private person.

“1 copy of a confirmed hotel reservation OR an invitation letter/mail from a person in Thailand with a full address and 1 copy of this person's identity card + proof that this person lives in Thailand (confirmation for at least half of your stay !)

An example of an “Invitation letter” can be found on the website of the Thai embassy in Brussels.

Attach a copy of her ID and a copy of her Tabien Baan and you're done
