Home » Visa question » Thailand Visa question No. 069/22: Border Sadao to Penang open?
Questioner: Ben
Overstay since February 27. On February 26 I went to immigration Pattani for Covid extension, but they don't give it anymore. Pattani Immigration says pay the overstay and get the papers to apply for a new visa.
My last visa was a Non-Immigration O volunteer February 2020. Can I go to Penang via the Sadao land border for a new non-immigrant O visa? I have the papers for the visa, what do I need when I go back to Thailand?
Reaction RonnyLatYa
I have no idea if any land border crossing is open yet. I thought not. But can you get a Non-immigrant O Volenteer in Penang? Don't you have to go to Kuala Lumpur for that? And you will then have to apply for a Thai Pass to be able to enter Thailand again. Those are the current requirements.
Perhaps one of the readers can give you more information about the border crossing.
– Do you have a visa question for Ronny? Use it contact form.! -
To my knowledge, some overland border crossings are now open and from tomorrow the Thailand Pass website should also be adjusted for registering for overland entry into Thailand.
I can't get past this plan and I understand only for Malysians

“Following the government's policy to open a travel bubble with Malaysia, tourists from the neighboring country will be allowed to enter under the Test and Go scheme with no quarantine upon arrival.”:
There are more border crossings open, but only for people from those countries.
Points of Entry:
……
By land (at the border checkpoints in Nong Khai, Udon Thani, and Songkhla.)
....
Eligible travelers / countries:
……
For arrivals by country: Fully vaccinated Thai citizens and foreign travelers from neighboring countries connecting with the reopened border checkpoints (Nong Khai, Udon Thani, and Songkhla

But of course he could have missed it too. Just like that of the Thai Pass that would be adjusted.
So it is constantly changing. You may also need to provide references.
