Questioner: Lonnie

Is it indeed possible to extend my extension or stay 30 days before the end date? I live in Khon Kaen province. I did find (on Thailandblog of course!), that you can start the 1st application 30 (or sometimes 45) days before the end of the 90 day period. But my extension ends on May 4, so it's not the 1st request now. My 90 days ends on May 13.

I would prefer to do it as soon as possible, before the situation with the virus gets out of hand, then it may not even be possible anymore. I have also asked this question by email to immigration Khon Kaen, but no answer (yet).

Thanks for your reply, and kudos for your patience with everyone.

30 to 45 days in advance is standard for applying for a year extension. Doesn't matter if it's a first or 10th request. That is the period within which your application will be accepted.

You now have a stay period of 90 days I understand and you want to extend it by 30 days.

You can, but you will probably need that visa support letter. Normally, such an application will be accepted 30 or perhaps 45 days before the end of your current period of stay.

But I don't really understand what you mean by it's not the 1st request? And how you got a 90-day extension

Regards,

Ronny
