Dear editors,

Of course, a lot has been written off about visas for Thailand. One thing is not completely clear to me, that is a proper explanation about obtaining a so-called “Thai lady mariage visa”. I have been happily (legally) married to a Thai lady for several years. Am also in possession of the yellow house book, for what it's worth.

Can you explain exactly what I have to submit with that “Thai mariage visa”?

You would be of great help to me with this.

best wishes from
Paul

Dear Paul,

First, a word about the name. A “Thai lady mariage visa” does not actually exist. However, for recognizability and also because it is called that by everyone (including immigration) and the name has therefore become established, we also use the name “Thai women visa”. In reality, the “Thai women visa” is a one-year extension based on marriage to a Thai national.

To get started, you must always first have a Non-immigrant visa. For example “O”, “OA”. You can subsequently have the period of stay that you obtain with that visa extended by one year on the basis of your marriage to a Thai. This can then be repeated annually, at least as long as the conditions are met. It is therefore not your visa that is extended each time, but the period of stay.

In the “Visa Thailand” file, which you can find on TB, you can read which forms you need to fill in and which proof you need to submit. I can now copy everything from the Dossier to this e-mail, but that does not add any value. So go to this link.
www.thailandblog.nl/wp-content/uploads/TB-2014-12-27-Dossier-Visa-Thailand-full version.pdf From page 25 you can read what you need and what you need to submit in the Dutch.

On page 32 a form has also been added as you can obtain it at Immigration Pattaya (Jomtien). This form is in English. I don't know where you will apply for the “Thai women visa”, but normally you can get such a form in any immigration office.

If you still have questions after reading, or if certain points are unclear, you can always contact me again.

Finally, I would like to point out that the forms or proofs that we list are the standard documents or proofs that are usually requested. The immigration officer can always ask for additional proof, but it is also possible that they are satisfied with what you present.

Regards,

RonnyLatPhrao
