In this shocking video you can see the consequences of distraction in traffic, in this case from a telephone. A moment of carelessness can kill you.

It is not clear whether this recording was made in Thailand, but it can be heard from the people in the car with the dashcam. In any case, the video makes it clear how dangerous it is to make a phone call while participating in traffic (also as a pedestrian).

A woman crosses a busy road and is also on the phone. Dan is at the expense of her attentiveness. The consequences are severe.

NB! The images can be shocking!

This accident happened in Chonburi on May 11th. Unfortunately, the lady in question did not survive…

Sad but today the daily truth, without a phone it is almost impossible to live.
It is also becoming more and more fun in the restaurants, at least 10 of the 8 are playing with the telephone.
As far as I understand, the government may use this video of the husband of the deceased teacher to use other people against this inattention. It is also high time that the police check this more strictly and hand out hefty fines for this and not just 100 Baht teamoney .
Was driving from Chon Buri to Pattaya on highway no 7 yesterday. Think I was driving around 100 on the 3rd lane and was overtaking cars and trucks, a car passes by on the 4th lane and estimated it was over 150 After a few kilometers he came into view again and still on the 4th track but now with 60 kilometers, and yes my suspicion was correct, he was with his phone to his ear.
I think 5000 Baht is a nice amount for a ticket for calling while driving.

You should come up with another punishment than fines.
      They are terribly unfair.
For someone on a minimum income, it's half a month's salary, with the family possibly going hungry.
For a wealthy Thai, it's a tip that he laughs at and then just keeps calling.

Whether you are killed by a rich or poor person remains the same in my opinion. So also basically equal penalties, whether that be a fine or something else, but also applying extra measures depending on the actual position of the person in question, I am not against that. As long as it never leads to impunity for the wealthy fellow man and we occasionally observe that in Thailand, among others. Anyone who practices safe driving knows that many in Thailand drive like a headless chicken. Totally no sense of responsibility on the part of many drivers. I myself witnessed a similar accident in Bangkok. Also a young lady who crashed and died. I still regularly see the images in my mind and it was so unnecessary and unjust. The infatuation of telephone use can be attributed to the person in question (major accidents also occur due to selfie behavior), but driving over the road is of a different order.
I had a habit in the beginning of stopping and doing kindness and leaving others for that whenever possible. In such situations you are still a danger because others do not react to this and just drive on. Certainly the motorbikes that fly around you left and right. They don't stop with all its consequences. This is also the case in this video where she thanked one driver and was shoveled by the next. I therefore advise everyone to watch out for too much kindness, because this is not understood in Thai traffic and can lead to the most terrible collisions.
