In order to steer the reactions and discussions on Thailandblog in the right direction, there are rules for people who leave a reaction.

These rules are regularly adjusted or tightened. For those who are not aware of the rules, we mention them again.

Rules for visitors who leave a comment:

  • Don't discriminate. Involving someone's beliefs, ethnicity or sexual orientation in a discussion in a hurtful way is not allowed.
  • No violence. Threatening or inciting violence is not allowed. Not even for fun.
  • Don't swear and insult. Criticism is allowed, but there are limits.
  • Do not get personal with the author or others. We disapprove of disrespectful behavior towards others. Calling someone 'stupid' is therefore not allowed.
  • The blog is not intended to express all your frustrations about Thai or just to complain.
  • No libel and/or slander. Defaming people not only distracts from the discussion, but also causes damage to the victim's publicity on the internet. Thailandblog is not a pillory.
  • Don't be long winded. Try to limit your response to one point of view. And defend it in a maximum of 200 words.
  • Thailandblog is not a chat room, if you want to chat with someone, go chat or go to the cafe.
  • Comments must be related to the topic of the posting, otherwise they may be removed.
  • Don't stray. If you are responding to someone, make that clear in your message.
  • If you do not agree with someone else's response, please provide arguments or a source reference. In any case, explain why you think otherwise.
  • Check spelling and grammar. We make an exception for dyslexics and people with a limited command of the Dutch language. We keep slob foxes away. The excessive use of punctuation marks such as multiple question marks and exclamation marks in a row is not allowed.
  • Don't troll. Don't change your identity during one discussion.
  • Do not shout. Do not use capitals to emphasize your message
  • No commercial messages. We and our readers are curious about what you know, not what you have to offer.
  • All comments related to the Royal Family are moderated. Censorship? Yes, because we don't want any hassle with the Thai government because someone on the blog shouts something anonymously. If you have an opinion on that, start your own blog and live it up.
  • extreme criticism Thailand (political, economic, social) that could have adverse consequences for the initiators and/or editors of this blog are not allowed.
  • Posting a link to a source, photo or video is allowed, provided it is normally acceptable material.
  • The editors and/or moderators of Thailandblog can adjust or refuse comments without giving reasons if they do not meet the above conditions. It is not possible to correspond about this.
