An article in the Telegraaf about the dysfunction of you or your organization and you are guilty. An investigation is no longer necessary. The judges, the readership of De Telegraaf, have already condemned you because everything with authority is wrong by definition. A typical Dutch trait.

Recognizable? Read the reactions to the posts about the investigation into alleged abuses at the Dutch Embassy in Bangkok.

Can we give anyone else the benefit of the doubt, or are we so hateful that by definition everyone is wrong? Also try to clarify a bit. Not everything is black or white, right or wrong.

You are only guilty if there are proven facts. Until then you are innocent. Let's stop dragging the Embassy staff before the people's court and then figuratively lynching them.

And let's be honest, aren't many of us resentful because they once had a bad experience with the embassy and it's now Bijltjesdag. Not very objective of course.

Everyone has the right to defend themselves, including the Ambassador. So let him cut some ribbons and visit some receptions.

We await the investigation, only then can you draw conclusions. And if something is not quite right, where can I apply for the position of Ambassador?

Yes hello, if you read the Telegraaf you know that 90 percent of the reporting is sensational and incorrect…
Really not a newspaper to keep up to date with everything that is happening in the world.
Read the reactions to articles posted on their website and you won't stop laughing. On the other hand, it also says something about the readers of this newspaper.

    • The problem is that many people blindly take it for truth. What also surprised me is that the AD and a number of other newspapers just took over the message.

I'm curious if it turns out to be a storm in a teacup or the Telegraaf will also bring this 'big'.

        That won't bother the Telegraph.
The reason for this is that good news is no news!!!

If the media is wrong in this case, they will put a small message on page 6”.

    I refer to another article:

Schiphol escapes a terrorist attack. and already 2 photos of the men who were arrested. (?!).

    What seems?

Nada noppes nothing. And then somewhere between the Albert Hein commercial you see an article that the two men have been released because they have nothing to do with terror.
I have a strong suspicion that this will also be the case with the embassy.

Anyway, Peter, I do think you should become an Ambassador.

    • I'm very good at cutting ribbons. I am also the pacesetter at receptions. You can't have a better CV, can you? 😉

I have no doubts, but do you also have some nice ties?
