On May 31, 2010, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the travel advice to Bangkok –Thailand adjusted to alert level four.

Due to the still uncertain and unstable political situation in Thailand travelers advised to exercise vigilance, especially in Bangkok and just north and northeast of the country. Travelers to Thailand are advised to avoid gatherings and demonstrations and to inform themselves well about current developments.

Travelers and Dutch residents in Thailand are also advised to register via the website of the Dutch embassy in Bangkok www.netherlandsembassy.in.th so that they can be reached by the embassy (including by text message) in the event of an emergency. Travelers are also advised information regularly on this website.

Coverage limitation calamity fund also lifted

Termination as of May 26, 2010 of the distributable situation established on May 17, 2010 for the whole of Bangkok excluding the airports.

Now that the situation eligible for payment has ended, travel organizers can again offer travel with a guarantee to the whole of Thailand, including Bangkok.

With this decision, the Calamity Committee does not mean to say that staying in Bangkok can be regarded as risk-free, but that the usual cover for these trips is accepted by the Calamity Fund. Of course, this in no way relieves tour operators and travelers of the caution to be observed under the current circumstances. In this context, the Calamities Committee refers to the travel advice for Thailand from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Editorial team:
Good news, because with this Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicates that Bangkok and the rest of Thailand are safe again. Tourists are no longer in the way of visiting Thailand again.
