Sunbeds and umbrellas allowed again on Phuket beaches
Tourists can breathe a sigh of relief again. Renting out beach beds and umbrellas Phuket will be allowed again. This turnaround comes in response to a complaint the landlords have filed with local authorities, Phuket News reports.
On Tuesday, the board on Phuket announced that 10% of the beach will be designated as a cot rental area. This announcement came from Deputy Governor Somkiet Sangkhaosutthirak after Governor Nisit Jansomwong had already approved the plan.
First, the 12 beaches around the Muang district will be arranged according to the new zoning plan. Officials of the municipality will strictly monitor that the rules are not violated.
The rental price for umbrellas and beds is determined in advance for the entire island. The rate for this will be announced on Friday.
10% of the beach?
That will be fighting for a bed.
This unless the tourists have already chosen other destinations.
Think and hope that after the 10% referred to, more beach area will be “chaired and prayed”.
Hey hey merry Christmas message
If they see that around 10.00 a.m. there are no more beds to rent, surely one Thai will get up and ask for an extension?
Had a strange holiday last November. Due to surgery and weight, it is difficult to lie on sand and get up again. That's why we didn't go to the beach.
Don't dare to book for May/June just yet. Let's wait and see first.
well then we just came back from 2 weeks in phuket no beach chair to be found only on paradise beach and would therefore not go to phuket any time soon
I was also in Patong last month and really missed the beach chairs and umbrellas. After 3 days lying on the sand and everything under the sand, we stayed at the pool for the rest of the week.
I can't get over the fact that they don't see that they are destroying tourism without beach beds.
Who wants to lie in the sand all day? I have already heard from several people that they do not go on holiday to Phuket for the same reasons. We look at the conditions in January, if it is disappointing it will be the last holiday to Phuket. I am also concerned about safety on the beach. In the past you could leave all valuables on the beach. All your belongings were watched by the beach rentals!
This is a good development for the tourists in Phuket
We always go to Thailand for 3 weeks in the winter, especially for the beach.
We are not going to do this now and have found another destination.
We don't like fighting for a bed and umbrella,
Friends of ours have just come back from Phuket.
Badly burned because there was no umbrella to get and no sunbeds.
An expensive wind-blown parasol was offered for sale for a far too expensive price.
Too bad because it is wonderful to stay on the beach there.
We thought the massage and the sellers were part of that.
We do not understand, it is also important that those people have an income.
It would be a good development.
Can someone explain?
