Massage in Thailand
Anyone who thinks of Thailand will involuntarily also think of massages. There are many types of massage, the best known of which are traditional Thai massage and oil massage. In addition, there are massages for shoulders, neck and feet.
It is strange to place your feet in a kind of aquarium, where small fish do their job. Some can't stand that tickling and it's funny to see how they try to "save" their feet.
I have seen another very special “massage” in Cambodia (see photo). Glass jars are heated over a small flame, so that the air goes out of the jar. Then the glass jars are placed on the back. The cooling creates a kind of vacuum that pulls the skin into the jar a bit (just think of the former preserving bottle principle to keep vegetables longer). After a while the glass jars can be removed and the "massage" is over. It will probably be good for the blood circulation of the skin.
It is strange to see such a massage treatment with a mat and glass jars along the road.
If the masseuse puts the glass jar in a more intimate place during the massage, it will also be good for the blood circulation there, I think!
Massage in Thailand, you can easily write a very thick book about it.
There are certainly massage parlors where an honest foot or body massage is given, but the majority of these massage parlors are disguised brothels.
These so-called massages have nothing to do with a massage and consist of pure sex, depending on the payment.
The aquariums with small fish is a scam, if your feet and lower legs are so-called cleaned with a cloth, there is a liquid in it that the fish love and therefore attack en masse, but has no effect whatsoever on removing flakes or any form of massage too, nice for the photo and nothing more.
Test it yourself by having one leg cleaned up to below the knee? And your other leg up to 10 cm above your ankle and see the difference.
Greetings Realist
That the MOST of Thai massage parlors are disguised brothels seems grossly exaggerated to me. There are many massage places where you can go between 99 and 130 Baht / hour. If it is already a bit better furnished and with air conditioning, 150-250 Baht is the price and in a middle class hotel towards 400. If you pay significantly more, you are clearly a tourist and you end up in the circuit where it is assumed that you may other services (for a fee). You can of course also reject it. There is a massive offer of massages in Thailand and the most diverse. sometimes remote places. I doubt that the MULTIPLE part would function as a disguised brothel.
It is indeed grossly exaggerated, but it has also often been experienced that the masseuse could not resist the temptation to subtly offer something 'more' than just an ordinary massage.
Recently stayed in a hotel of a well-known chain in Bangkok, which houses a luxurious SPA wellness annex massage parlor with separate massage rooms, neat ladies in traditional clothing who, in such a room where you are alone with her, after a while, as said, subtly touch something and then whisper softly in your ear…
For the moral knights among us: it's not so much that I look it up, see or rather feel it naturally and to be honest I often can't resist the temptation. That they actually do it secretly may be clear, but oh well, give them an extra pocket money.
Every year my wife and I get a massage almost daily on the beach or in the hotel. Sometimes we also go to a massage parlor. We have never noticed anything of "sex" massages. That may of course have to do with the fact that we are just the two of us and over fifty, but I don't believe that. I am convinced that these salons are present in large numbers, but I also think that you should consciously look for them.
I do have to warn about Thai massages. They can hit it pretty hard. I once suffered from a muscle that had snapped for two weeks. Oil massages can never hurt and are wonderfully relaxed. And for the rest ... everything is a matter of taste!
have fun in Thailand and try a massage.
mr. BP,
Try a blind institute for massage.
These people see with their hands and give a world massage.
Sometimes a day suffers from a muscle that has been annoying for a long time, but then, over.
they just feel where the misery is and also which you don't know yourself, but is present and could hurt later.
Not everyone likes it and that will also have to do with the fact that these are blind people, but actually it is one of the best Thai massages.
I also go there too little, because my husband likes oil massage and we get 2 therapists at home twice a week and you can stay in the house, but if someone has a problem, go to the blind therapists.

Never in my life had a better massage than from a blind man. Completely agree with you.
