Dick Koger wrote in the past about the beautiful sunsets in Thailand:

“A little after six o'clock a beautiful scene began. On the horizon were small clouds with orange-yellow edges. The islands stood out sharply against the bright light. Left of the place, where the sun hid behind the clouds. On the right we saw alternating blue skies and orange planes. Yet these images were not exceptional, beautiful as they were. Diagonally above us hung an extensive low level cloud cover and at a certain point it turned red-pink. Then this turned bright orange and then red-purple. There was something sinister about the whole thing, especially since that color change took place in about five minutes. After that, the color orange also quickly disappeared from the horizon and it became dark.

We were both speechless for a long time and then could only say that we had never seen anything so beautiful. Too bad this is so hard to put into words. It was clear, however, that if a painter would make a true-to-life image, this would probably be called kitsch. It was unreal beautiful. In retrospect, it was a great pity that I did not have a camera with me, because I would have loved to show it.”
