If you see glossy photos of Thailand, there is a good chance that there is one of Koh Nang Yuan, which is close to Koh Tao. It is therefore a true tropical paradise. Koh Nang Yuan consists of three small islands connected by a strip of beach with powder-soft white sand.

The water is crystal clear and you can see the colorful fish swimming. Even more beautiful is snorkeling in the shallow bays. It is remarkably clean, plastic is banned on the island. There is an entrance fee. You are not allowed to bring food and drinks to avoid littering. You can rent snorkeling gear at the beach bar for 100 Baht per set. Make sure you have an extra 1000 Baht with you for the deposit. There is a restaurant where you can buy food and drinks. You can rent two beach chairs with a parasol for 150 Baht (you are not allowed to lie on the beach with your towel).

Koh nang yuan

Koh Nang Yuan, a breathtakingly beautiful group of islands off the coast of Thailand, is a dream location for many who visit the Land of Smiles. Consisting of three smaller islands connected by sandbanks, Koh Nang Yuan offers a unique and photogenic beauty rarely found elsewhere.

Located close to the larger and better known Koh Tao, these islands are famous for their crystal clear waters and exuberant underwater world, making them a paradise for snorkelers and divers. The colorful coral reefs and variety of marine life, including schools of tropical fish, are truly a sight to behold.

What makes Koh Nang Yuan special is its serene and almost untouched nature. The islands are largely untouched by the hustle and bustle of modern tourism, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The natural beauty is everywhere here, from the lush green hills to the soft, white sandy beaches that stretch along the coast.

One of the most popular activities on Koh Nang Yuan is climbing the viewpoint, an experience not to be missed. From the top you have a breathtaking view of the islands and the surrounding sea, a perfect place for unforgettable photos.

Although Koh Nang Yuan is relatively small, it offers several amenities for visitors, including a resort for those who want to stay overnight. This makes it easy to fully experience the beauty of the island, whether for a day trip or for a longer period of time.

You can only reach the island from Koh Tao by boat. Inquire on site.

'You can only reach the island from Koh Tao with a boat (price about 500 baht). Inquire on the spot.'
This island is also accessible if you sail from Chumphon with the Lomprayah (Pak Nam – Thung Nakhan Noi Pier) to the Samui Archipelago. The first stop the Lomprayah makes is Koh Nang Yuan. The next is only Koh Tao.

Been there with a snorkeling tour.
The snorkel set was arranged by the tour operator.
And food and drinks were also included in the tour price.

Whether I paid the entrance fee of 100 baht myself or whether it was included in the tour price, I can't remember now.
But it is still wise to have a few baht in your pocket when you book such a tour.
I myself have a note of 500 Baht with me. .

Just type on Google Maps and you will see these islands in the Gulf of Thailand.

I read that it is forbidden to lie on a beach towel, but we were there 2 years ago and the only restrictions that were made known to us were that we were not allowed to bring plastic.

We laid on our beach towels with no problem.

What I don't read is that the feet and bath slippers are rinsed before departure. Not to prevent a dirty boat, but to prevent the disappearance of sand. Striking, but not illogical.

The island is privately owned by Lumprayah ferry service and the owner thought it necessary to increase the entrance fee from 100 to 250 baht because apparently too little money is coming in now at this time.
Very unfortunate and bad for the reputation of Koh Tao. A return ticket by boat also costs 300 bath instead of 500. The island is often visited in combination with a snorkeling tour around the island.

I went to these islands at the end of December 2021.
Just over 500 bath incl food unlimited fruit tea and coffee.
I think entry was included in the price.
Borrowed a super new silicone snorkeling set from the tour operator.
I have been almost all over the world and also regularly in the Philippines on various islands.
In short, very cheap and quality.
