From now on, drivers who transport passengers in the back of a pickup truck will only receive a verbal warning. This was agreed on Friday during a meeting of Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu and representatives of the Royal Thai Police (RTP), the Land Transport Department (LTD) and other relevant services.

The ban on transporting people in the back of a pickup truck has been postponed and does not apply during Songkran. The government bows to the many criticisms on social media, especially from workers who can no longer go to work, but also from Songkran revelers who want to transport people and barrels of water in order to bomb each other with water.
