Reader question: What does insulin cost in Thailand?
I am diabetic and have to inject insulin. I use Novarapid – fast-acting (before each meal) and Lantus – slow-acting (once a day at the same time) and I also use glucophage 1 mg and coversyl plus 850. I would like to know what this medication costs in Thailand and whether it is easy to obtain obtain?
Have lost a lot of weight lately and now weigh 88 kilos with BMI 25,2. Use metformin 2 times 1000 mg and once levemir insulin 10 eh. My GFR is 59 then 2000 mg of metformin is the highest I can use says the diabetes manual.
The diabetes caused neuropathy. That is very painful. Walking is fine for a hundred meters, after that the pain in the legs is too great and it is impossible to take another step. This is from recent years. Utrace doesn't help much. To limit the high costs of insulin, I try to reduce the use with a diet.
