Reader question: Hire purchase for a private house
I am going to buy a house in Bangsaray together with my Thai wife. We want (necessarily have to) first rent for 3 years and then finalize the final purchase. I was thinking of a hire-purchase, where the rent is deducted from the purchase. This was strange for my wife, but in the meantime she knows that this is also done in Thailand. Through acquaintances we found a house where we would pay 25.000 baht as rent and after 3 years the 900.000 baht would be deducted from the purchase.
