Deputy Prime Minister Somkid wants Japan to speed up the development of the Bangkok-Chiang Mai high-speed rail line and two other rail lines. Thailand wants to jointly develop the railway with Japan.
The French ambassador to Thailand has informed the Thai transport minister that France is interested in developing the high-speed railway from Bangkok to Hua Hin. The French also want to build an aircraft maintenance center at U-Tapao airport near Pattaya.
CP and ThaiBev want to invest in the high-speed train
The Charoen Pokphand Group (CP), the country's largest agro-industrial and food conglomerate and owner of the Makro in Thailand, among others, wants to invest 150 billion baht in the construction of a high-speed line (194 km) between Bangkok, Pattaya and Rayong, said Transport Minister Prajin.
