I hear from various quarters that there are new rules for bringing valuables? I hear a limit of 20.000 Baht (just under € 600). An average iPhone is already more expensive. Who can tell more about this?

What does customs on Suvarnabhumi actually do?

I always marvel at the last part of the baggage carousel from Suvarnabhumi airport to the reception hall. You will then pass through customs. In all the years and dozens of times I've flown to Thailand, I've never been asked to open my bags. Not even at the old airport Don Muang. Usually the customs officers are bored or have something to eat. What's the use then? Has anyone among the readers ever been audited? And if so what? Run through?

How much money can I bring to and from Thailand?

You are free to decide how much money you take with you to Thailand or from Thailand to the Netherlands, but are you taking € 10.000 or more with you? Or the same amount but in dollars or another currency, then you must declare it to Customs. You do not have to pay tax on the money at Customs, but Customs needs to know that you have the money with you.

I am on the drug Oxazepam and take about 24. I have a statement from CAK and it has been approved by the Thai embassy. Do I have to declare my medicines at customs or can I just walk through without declaring the medicines because I already have all the forms?
