Beach visit in Thailand on Wednesday

Scared Sarah

Thailand is known for the beautiful beaches at a number of locations. It is hoped that this remains the case. It is also understandable that when there is a lot of interest in a certain area, the local population tries to get their share. It will be different if large capital holders get involved. These will try to build resorts or hotels and thereby affect the local infrastructure.

Fortunately, this is not possible everywhere. Another aspect are the measures taken by the government, often incomprehensible to tourists. Think of the chairs and parasol day off on Wednesday. The landlords are also not happy. The expected high season is disappointing and 1 day less income is hitting hard.

For the people in Jomtien and Pattaya there is still the possibility to enjoy the beach on Wednesday. You can go for that Scared Sarah drive, where on Wednesday the beach is in use by landlords. For them, the Tuesday that rental is not allowed applies. Here you sit on a rug on the coast or chairs can be provided on request. Both the beach and the water are clean and clear. The whole is friendly and small-scale. In the distance, one can see Pattaya on the right. The town offers enough restaurants to satisfy any visitor.

Would you rather sit more spacious than is Nang Ram and Nang Rong a good option. Via the 331 direction sattahip one passes 2 intersections. Where you are not allowed to continue driving, turn left; a little further on, 20 baht is required from a farang and one drives into the said area. On the left are a number of stalls, where sympathetic ladies are already waving to order food or drinks from them. Look for a parking space further on and order a sun lounger from the landlady. On Wednesdays it is quiet and pleasant here under the large shady trees. Showers and toilets are available for a small fee. The two beaches are separated by a flute-playing water nymph known from Thai mythology and a few other sculptures.

This beaches are better not to visit on Saturdays, Sundays and Thai holidays, unless you want to experience Thai family life up close with your own cola, alcohol, food and music.

  1. Lung Theo says up

The beach of Ban Amphur, coming from Pattaya, located just past halfway towards Ban Saray, also has beach chairs and the like on Wednesdays. I think they are banned there on Thursdays.
