Terminal 21 in Pattaya North

This week I was in Pattaya North and decided to have my lunch in Terminal 21. On the third floor you can choose from a number of restaurants. I will not report on what was served and such as this is of no interest to many readers.

A few other things caught my eye this time. Terminal 21 looks grand from the outside. But appearances are deceiving. Due to the minimal number of visitors, it was easy to park indoors, clearly indicated everywhere by the green lights on the ceiling at the relevant parking space. Just write down the number of the parking space, because I didn't remember where the car was last time in the much larger parking garage in Central Festival! “A bit stupid!”, Maxima would say.

In the shopping center all units were now rented out and more “dressed” in various places, which immediately gives a different impression. The “country theme” has also been maintained, as in Korat, but the actual exposure was minimal in the business. However, the visitors and/or buyers failed to do so. The few visitors that there were, consisted mainly of younger Chinese. The sellers also did not actively recruit and were more interested in their iPhone. Terminal 21 in Pattaya has only three floors for sales and several restaurants. Many "ordinary" things as elsewhere in Thailand: Starbucks, Santa Fé, and even Amazone as they are located at the PTT petrol stations. On the 4e floor are several cinemas and an entertainment department for enthusiasts.

For specialties, one does not have to rush directly to Terminal 21 in Pattaya. At the most that people want to relax in a cooler environment and walk around and maybe they will find something nice. A large Christmas tree was already decorated outside!

In BKK it is super busy because of the extremely cheap food court on the 5th floor. On floor 4 there are all kinds of well-known chain restaurants, which also change regularly. After 9 months, it turned out that the former Koreans were almost all gone .
Is such a super cheap food court, even cheaper than those carts on the street, also present there?
That streetcar from San Francisco and a London doubledecker seem to be standard.

The food court keeps the business running, because many people get a good meal there for little money.
Without such a food court, you probably won't see anyone in those malls.

In central festival and the other shopping center it is not much better. Just look around there. What do you want with this rate of approximately 33 baht for one euro.

I just came back from the Netherlands and Germany… you may complain about the exchange rate of the Thai baht, but if you compare prices with the two aforementioned countries, you can consider yourself lucky that you can still pay proportionally for the Baht price in Thailand. can eat cheaply. What do you say about a bottle of water for 3 Euro compared to the same water in Thailand for 30 Baht??? Even sandwiches in a Jumbo are only slightly cheaper in the Netherlands than the same sandwiches in Thailand. I even dare to say that they are cheaper in Thailand.

So if you eat in such a Terminal 21 in Thailand, you will still get a cheaper meal in most cases than in the Netherlands.

Sorry, just a correction, but it is currently only 31,15 baht for a Euro. And this was the highest possible price today.

Just exchanged for 33,05 in BKK

The rate is at approx. 33,1
I don't know where you change?

Where do you change your Euro. At TT it is still (Nov 29) above 33 Baht:

This should of course be about Terminal 21 and not about the exchange rate of the baht. But I'll try to connect it anyway.
I noticed that bank branches of all well-known Thai banks use a considerably lower exchange rate than all those exchange offices here and there in Pattaya.

Recently I was in Terminal 21 in Korat…Totally amazed…Magnificent shopping center that many American shopping centers cannot match. Mega big with everything you need when it comes to “shopping”… But above all, at normal affordable prices… not like in Central. A “food court” on the 5th floor with a panoramic view of the city…But here it comes: prices for dishes ranging from 27 to 36 Thb!…Deliciously presented, tasty…and half cheaper than in a regular “food court” from a medium to large Tesco… When I asked how this was possible, it turned out that the princess (eldest daughter of the late Bumibol) is the main shareholder and wants to keep everything as attractive as possible for her people. Nice gesture! And an absolute must. Of course the question remains why it has to be twice as expensive elsewhere….Amazing Thailand…

Have also been in Terminal 21 in Khorat a week ago,
but was on a Sunday and the food court was so busy ,
that you almost never find a free table.
And yes , very good food and only paid 37 baht for a dish .
So take a walk through the Terminal for a while
      and then eat again.
Highly recommended when you are in Khorat!

Also nice, that ice rink there.
Would like to skate a round, but don't think they have my size.
And besides, skating has been so long ago that I'm afraid to put myself in the spotlight.

My wife and I are movie buffs and watch the films that appeal to us every week. In Terminal 21 we always have a meal in the food court. Dirt cheap and good quality. With my old van days cinema discount card we are already generous for 100 baht per person. I especially prefer the vegetarian corner on the right side of the food court. Do not eat meat every day, alternate with fish and tofu. It's a bit full there, while the other restaurants struggle to get customers in. However, the new food court in Central Pattaya has become a lot more expensive. So are the fish restaurants in Bangsarey, just to name a few. I hadn't been for a while and was shocked by the current prices. The restaurant at the foot of the fishing pier there were only two meals for 180 baht and the rest was well over 200, 250 and 280 baht and for the fish you will not go below 450 baht. This despite the restaurants in our area where you can get the same meal for under 100 baht and often much lower. Yes, people are doing well and that can be seen by the visitors who then stay away. Thai logic and more I can not make of it.

Been to Terminal 21 Pattaya at the beginning of November and indeed very quiet there.
Especially shocked by the food court in central festival, which is just gone in front and everything is boarded up. Now a much smaller one has come at the back. The atmosphere is completely gone, and almost no visitors. Food prices there, and also in the big C, are considerably more expensive than at the beginning of this year.
Something is not right, that is clear.

Oh … .. We were in terminal 21 Pattaya in January and then it was very busy with oriental people and they had apparently bought well. We were almost the only western people and only came to see the new shopping mall. In Central Festival it was usually very busy in the food cord in the basement and the Mac and other smaller eateries had nothing to complain about then either …. How much can change in 1 year. We will see again in January.

        Yes Jacqueline,
Central Festival was a real shock for us too, that basement has completely changed. Those little shops at the back (beach side) are all gone.
