Pattaya wants to seduce Chinese tourists through the internet

On Facebook you could read an article by a TAT employee about how they want to make Pattaya more attractive to tourists through extra activities. One problem is that due to the decline of tourists in the city, less income is coming in, which will make it financially difficult to initiate extra activities.

The Chonburi Tourist Attraction Association is now proposing to attract more Chinese tourists to Thailand through online marketing to promote Pattaya online.

China has a large market with more than 700 million people who have access to the internet. The campaign must appeal to Chinese people individually. They can arrange their own trips, tickets for tourist attractions and accommodations online and are not dependent on Chinese travel organisations.

Last year, according to a report, 38 million tourists visited Thailand. Tourism in Chonburi can benefit from this through special offers, for example in the field of sports, medical tourism and honeymoons.

It is good to read that a different wind has to blow in Pattaya. Progressive insight sometimes takes a while. Tapping into other target groups and I'm not just thinking of the Chinese, because I've seen some incidents of that that caused hassle. Especially the eating behavior of some of those Chinese and the noise that is produced is reprehensible. Information could perhaps work for this target group. The demolition of all those bars can't go fast enough for me. Banned prostitution, that makes people happy. I know this doesn't apply to everyone, but as you may know, there are more positives than negatives involved in closure.

There are plenty of beach resorts around the world that are doing a lot better so sending a delegation to places that are successful and finding out why and applying it is a possibility that can work. Trying to get good music bands to perform here. It's something different from that sugary bleating with those old English songs.
The marathon, which will take place on the 21st of this month, is already an improvement and fortunately people realized in time that a second registration option was necessary. Many people were disappointed after three days the registration was already full because there was a limit.
Also in the sporting field there is certainly still some catching up to do, but yes money is what is often missing and whether this will improve. I hope so, because Pattaya is worth seeing in a different light.
