Advertising on Led Screens in Pattaya

In Pattaya, a number of Led Screens have been installed above police posts. Coming from Sukhumvit Road, these can be seen on major streets at intersections to the coast, such as Pattaya North (Nua), Pattaya Central (Klang) and Pattaya South (Thai). Elsewhere a few Led Screens are set up.

The Led Screens contain a number of traffic warnings, such as wearing a helmet and not driving under the influence. You can read the regulations while waiting at a traffic light.

Recently, companies can place advertisements here. A contribution of 233 baht is requested per Led Screen. The advertisement will then be shown eight times a day for 15 seconds. Longer is of course also possible in consultation. The other nine Led Screens do not show it. Some advertising is completely unclear because it is only mentioned in Thai.

Pedestrians and other road users can read the advertisements at the intersections is the (underlying) idea. However, at an intersection, the message can only be read in a limited way, whether one looks at the back of the Led Screen or at the side. Whether people are distracted by this new phenomenon is another question.

  1. Stan says up

Finally an attempt at “traffic education”.
Now that the traffic rules are still mandatory in the many soaps on all TV channels, many Thai people can gradually become aware
I greet this first attempt in Pattaya very positively and do not want to express any criticism: after all, all beginnings are difficult, but they have started with information!
