The Klong Suan market (video)
The Klong Suan market is over 100 years old. It is still an authentic market even though more and more tourists are discovering this market.
This special market has retained its old traditional charm. That will have to do with the fact that you have to travel for it. The market is located 20 kilometers from Suvarnabhumi Airport, so more than an hour's drive from Bangkok.
The floating market can only be admired on Saturdays and Sundays. Still, the main market is open daily and much less crowded. If you take the time to explore the market you can discover true treasures.
The market is several hundred meters long and consists of small old-fashioned wooden shops, many of the owners still live above. The Klong Suan market is also clean and well maintained, you can enjoy some traditional local dishes and the atmosphere of a bygone era, everything here is still slower and friendlier.
