Thailand will introduce three new Sandbox destinations as of January 11, 2022: Krabi, Phang-Nga and Surat Thani (only Koh Samui, Koh Pha-ngan and Koh Tao) in addition to the current Sandbox destination: Phuket.
The Sandbox regulation means that fully vaccinated foreign tourists must book a hotel for 7 nights in a SHA Plus hotel, but after the first negative test at the airport or at the hotel, they are allowed to move freely on the island. A second test follows on the fifth day and after 7 days people are allowed to move freely in Thailand.
All travelers must first apply for Sandbox Thailand Pass. You must have a:
- Passport
- Vaccination certificate.
- A pre-arrival negative PCR test result up to 72 hours old.
- Proof of prepaid 7 nights accommodation in an approved hotel
- Evidence of prepaid RT-PCR testing
- An insurance policy with coverage not less than $50.000.
You can go to Thailand without a visa for 30 days under the Visa Exemption Rule (you can extend this for another 30 days at immigration for a fee of 1.900 baht). If you want to go longer, you must apply for a visa. The options are available on the website of the Thai embassy in Belgium and the Netherlands.

That is a possibility to travel at the end of this month. But then the question is still open whether a transit in Bangkok is possible? Is this already known to anyone on this forum?
Dear,
For the Phuket Sandbox program you must arrive at Phuket Airport with an international flight.
Does this also apply to Krabi and Suratthani or can it be done via Bkk?
You can fly directly to Samui or transit via Suvarnabhumi Airport (Bangkok Airport). If you transfer in Bangkok, the flight ticket from Bangkok to Samui (and vice versa) must be issued on the same booking as your international flight. You can only book approved Bangkok-Samui-Bangkok flights (Bangkok Airways Flights: PG5125 and PG5171). Any flight reservations booked separately will not be allowed.

The site here states that after January 11, 2022, the Sandbox arrangement will be extended to Krabi. So my question is; can you fly from Amsterdam to Bangkok and then continue with a national flight to Krabi?
Please hear who knows this, because when I inquired at the Thai embassy in The Hague I was told that you were not allowed to fly to Phuket via Bangkok and that you had to arrive in Phuket with an international flight for the sandbox rules.
We want to travel to Krabi on 21 January.
Curious how this is?
Already had Covid 19, what to do?
At the beginning of December 2021 I had corona and I have a positive test from the GGD Amsterdam.
Now I read that new entry restrictions apply from 7-1-2022.
New to me was the following text:
Those who have had Covid-19 over the past three months can enter Thailand by presenting a medical clearance letter. The consulate also noted that former Covid-19 patients may be required by the airline to present a negative RT-PCR result before boarding or at their transit airport.
Since I have already booked a flight to Bangkok on February 8 and would like to stay in Hua Hin for a month, I wonder if mandatory quarantine and testing are required?
