There is now more clarity about the announced mass demonstration in Bangkok by the red shirts (UDD). It will be held between March 12 and 14 in the Sanam Luang and Rachadamnoen Avenue area.
Current government must resign
The aim of the mass protest is to bring the current government to its knees. Continuing the demonstration is not

depending on the outcome of the trial against Thaksin today.
There are no organized demonstrations planned for today, but the UDD indicates that everyone is free to protest anyway.
Bangkok cut off from the outside world
According to Bangkok Post, the demonstration has been postponed because more preparation time is needed. The UDD has also announced that all major access roads to Bangkok will be occupied. As a result, Bangkok will be closed to the outside world. Red shirt checkpoints are intended to prevent counter-demonstrators from mingling with the crowd.
