'Vitamin C saves lives'

Recent research by doctors in the United States shows that the lives of critically ill patients with sepsis (blood poisoning) can be saved by administering a high dose of vitamin C, in combination with thiamine (vitamin B1) and hydrocortisone. Researchers at the VUmc also see an important role for vitamin C in the treatment of patients in intensive care.
