While many readers of Thailand blog were annoyed by rude Russians at the buffet, the Chinese can also witness this video.

Unleash a group of Chinese at an 'All you can eat' restaurant in Chiang Mai and you have enough material for a remarkable video. "The average street dog in Thailand has even more decency," someone writes on Facebook.

The video shows, among other things, that people use the plates to scoop up and people try to push each other away from the buffet.

Well, eating… Bragging well… I slowly have the feeling with those Chinese that they have to do that, otherwise they will go out empty.
What a mindset. Luckily I haven't experienced them personally yet.
Those people still have a long way to go to a little humanity….

      Gadverdamme what a rude bear!!
But we've been through even worse. To puke that people!

My God! This can't be real, can it? It's really too bad for words! Haha, what a me… uh… beasts. I feel sorry for the Chinese who are neat and are confronted with this.

    Well,

When I first went out to eat with my family, there was also an incredible amount of scooping and not completely eaten. I then deliberately stayed put until everything was eaten. After that, there was never too much scooped up because otherwise the falang will stay.

These people may also be “eating out” for the first time, but in China the rule applies me, me and me

There will still be a long way to go before all Chinese people know humanity.
    She really isn't taught that.

    Greetings Nico

are really rude have been seen several times in hotels and shops in bangkok, wow.

Have seen Chinese people several times in the cheap restaurant (ground floor in the corner near the counter of the airport bus to Jomtien) at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Always some loud talking (almost screaming) people.

Furthermore, once at my table there was a Chinese (man) who rested his lower lip on the plate and then slid the food in with 2 chopsticks. Not for a moment did he lift his head, he just kept sliding until the plate was empty.
I made it clear to him (and especially his female dining companion) with word and gesture that he ate like a rude pig.

That way of eating in Chinese is quite normal for them. You see it everywhere in China, Hong Kong and/or Taiwan, but mostly with the common man. But they don't think it's rude at all.

I have indeed often experienced it myself in China and then thought "that way I can also eat it with chopsticks".

In 2009 I made a tourist trip with a bunch of Chinese in Guangzhou. This also included a buffet. I have never seen everything go "up" so quickly... You had to be very quick, otherwise you would only find empty plates.
No wonder for a people that has been experiencing famines for 2000 years. Even today's 50-ers can remember well that they had to think not about food, but about something else, because.. food was often not there.

Although my wife and I increasingly encounter Chinese people on holiday, we have not yet had any negative experiences. It is noticeable that there are always large groups and the restaurants that focus on this group only have long tables with cold fluorescent light. They are a bit skittish because they only speak Chinese. But if there is one who does speak English, they will try to contact you immediately.

In Chiangmai, Chinese people are no longer welcome in many all you can eat restaurants (moo khata, Thai barbecue) due to this behaviour. It is usually clearly stated that you have to pay extra for what you do not eat. Wonder how that ended here.

I've never seen this personally. Well, we left the hotel in Roi Et through a neat dining room and returned after 30 minutes in chaos. Now I can imagine something...
I did find that the Chinese are fast. We had a bakery lunchroom on the Belgian border.
Once a month, at 6.30 am, a few buses with Chinese people passed by and “covered” Europe in 5 days. They stopped at our business and within 20 minutes we were “loose” Inc. the souvenir items that we sold at the request of the tour guide. All the pastries and snacks were gone.
    So that pace was there.

This video speaks for itself. Professionally also often experienced Chinese with inappropriate behavior; I spoke to them about it, after which most of them behaved better in the future. I've never seen as colorful as these Chinese, but in the 70s I visited the Canary Islands several times, where there were already 'all you can eat buffets', largely visited by Dutch and Germans, who also stormed the buffet as if they were a hunger winter behind. At one of these buffets, the tour guide advised to wear old clothes. The reason became clear when after some time everyone started throwing food at each other. A kind of 'Songkran' but instead of water and powder, potatoes, meatballs, puddings, etc. were thrown. I quickly left and was looking forward to 'all you can eat' for a long time.

This has been known for a long time, nothing new under the sun Chinese are often even worse than Russians, I said much longer ago, but now it looks even more beautiful on camera.

    Were it not .
That Thailand is happy to receive more and more of these quality tourists every year.
Which in turn give a mega boost to the TAT and the Thai economy.
We, however, the traditionally living western farang, coming for long years as a tourist or hibernator or living on a retirement in Thailand.
They actually pump many specimens into the Thai economy every year, just think of Isaan as an example.
    Are increasingly subject to regulations.
So Thailand be happy with all those Chinese and cherish them because you think you will have it soon.
    You find out.

    Jan Beute.

Spent more than 3 weeks on Patong Beach Phuket in February.
The last time was 7 or 8 years ago after many years of staying there every year.
Probably the last time for me.
It is now bursting with the Chinese and Russians with the above-mentioned “eating pattern”.

Considering the absorbent prices on the beach and the beach chair policy, this is the last straw.

Recently had a “nice” snorkeling trip with 200 Chinese…..experience to remember!! And indeed, there was a lunch buffet, where a previous group had already sat…..there was just as much on the tables, on the floor and on the abandoned plates as there had ever been in those pans…..because of the noise keep silent!

Like these Chinese, the Russians were also a few years ago in the all-inclusive hotels in Turkey, Spain or other places of mass tourism.
I think the hotel owners should think carefully about whether they opt for the 'normal' guests or for a group that has not yet been educated. What pays off the most. the first group will stay away because of the second group. The former will also digest more, individually.
I think western people also showed similar behavior long ago. A mass of Chinese are now finding their way abroad, just like the Russians before them. That requires an adjustment.

  17. sandra says up

yes, we also experience that the Chinese are ill-mannered. you stand in line to queue, they just walk past the whole line and do their thing, the noise they produce is very disturbing if you stay in a hotel where the walls are not too thick and you go to the massage to relax relax, well if Chinese people come in bye relax time.

  18. Nicole says up

If I saw this in a restaurant I would leave immediately.
By the way, more and more Chinese people are coming to many diving centers, who are not exactly popular either.

Same as with the Russians. New wealthy generation?
