From this week on the major Thai music channel Channel V Thailand you can meet the Flemish rock band Bandits. The station decided to include the music video 'Time Bomb' in their schedule, thanks to the band's rapidly growing popularity in Thailand.
“A few Thai fans came into contact with our music via YouTube and Facebook,” says Bandits singer Jasper Publie. “That in itself is remarkable, because we sing in Dutch. Yet the number of fans in Thailand has continued to grow like an oil slick. There is now even a separate Thai Facebook page with thousands of Thai fans and the number is growing by the hundreds every week. We also receive letters and presents from Asia, really cool!”.
"We also offered our latest single Tijdbom in Thailand via iTunes and we even hit the download charts with it," says Toon Smet, the band's drummer. “We took the plunge and contacted Channel V Thailand. They were immediately enthusiastic about the story and decided to give us a chance on their channel. Hopefully we can play a live concert in Thailand soon!”.
