A group of 13 tourists were terrified this week when the boat they were staying on capsized off the coast of southern Thailand and sank within minutes.

This perilous adventure was filmed by Swedish diver Dennis Karlsson who posted it on Youtube. The video shows tourists trying to get off the boat in a blind panic. Desperate people stand on the boat screaming and eventually they jump off board in a desperate attempt to save their own lives.

The boat named Aladdin was allegedly operating illegally and was located between Bon Island and Tachai Island in southern Thailand. A boat from Phuket was nearby and was able to rescue the tourists from the sea.

The sunken vessel has Ranong as its home port and was on its way for a four-day sailing trip. Thai officials declared the boat illegally carrying tourists because it was not registered to do so.

According to the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, all thirteen passengers survived the drama.

Horrible, you will just experience how terrified those people will have been, fortunately they have all been saved, which I do wonder and I know you are not allowed to judge, but in this case I will anyway, how could that man (a diver ) to film this at your leisure.
It's great that we can now watch it too and it's on youtube so a lot of likes, but I think I would have helped those people first and I wouldn't have thought about filming at all at that time.

In BKK we often go with the ferry across the Chaophraya river and then sometimes so many people get on that thing is completely crooked, I think there is no limit and no control at all, then I will be happy when I get rid of it .
A nice question maybe someone knows this, is it checked that the ferry over the Chaophraya river is not overloaded before it makes the crossing.

I saw yesterday on Thai visa .com , my Thai spouse and I watched this video with horror .

    Terrible Situation.
    Train – Bus – or minibus .
You are certainly not sure about your life here .
Checks on safety, etc., are lacking here on all fronts
Making money money is the only thing they think about here at all costs.
If you like a bit of an evening, Thailand has certainly become a challenge.
Every day in my own area I see accidents of every kind , mostly fatal .
