Pilots suspended after nap

Airline Air India has suspended two pilots after they left the cockpit to take a nap in business class.

The plane was en route from Bangkok to New Delhi on April 12, when both pilots decided to put the plane on autopilot and take a beauty sleep elsewhere. Two flight attendants were asked to act as pilots for a while, they were allowed to keep the men's seats warm in the cockpit.

Autopilot turned off

After twenty minutes, however, things went wrong, one of the flight attendants (blonde?) had accidentally switched off the autopilot. The plane began to shake violently and the ladies hurried to business class to wake up the pilots who had left for dreamland. Upon arrival in India, a colleague reported the incident to her superior.

Air India says it regrets the incident, but that the aircraft was only checked in the cockpit by the airline's cabin crew for XNUMX minutes. However, witnesses reported that it was for a period of forty minutes. Both pilots were suspended last week, as were the two flight attendants who accidentally disabled the autopilot.

The plane departed Bangkok at 12:8.55 a.m. local time on April XNUMX.

Whoever endangers the safety of passengers in such a way deserves dismissal and not suspension.
