There is a lot of fuss in Thailand about pin-up calendar Nok Air
Thailand has another riot. This time for a calendar with graceful ladies from budget airline Nok Air. The female minister of culture once again expressed disgrace.
Ms. Prisana Pongtatpitakkul reported yesterday that she was not happy with the "naked women calendar," writes The Nation. “The calendar shows that commercial companies exploit female bodies for marketing purposes. They thus avoid social and cultural responsibility. This has negative consequences for the dignity of women in Thailand,” she said.
She noted that it is precisely this kind of practice that explains why foreigners still have negative prejudices against Thai women. To turn the tide, everyone in Thai society should help to change this image.
Nok Air shows on its 2013 calendar the photos of 12 women in yellow bikinis posing near the planes. The photos can be admired on the Facebook page of Nok air: www.facebook.com/nokairlines .
The Ministry of Culture understands that it cannot take criminal action against Nok Air, but demands a discussion with advertising agencies and marketers to prevent such statements in the future.
haha what nonsense! My wife also says this is going too far, they can complain about this calendar, but let them do something about the tuk tuk, pattaya, phuket etc etc first.
Seems like a nice calender. No problem. Look at it rather than a photo of the mosquito's reproduction. oid.
Ruud
Very beautiful calendar.
I would immediately jump on a plane from NokAir to go on holiday to Thailand.
You will not find a better promotion of Thailand
I'm coming !
This lady's comment aptly illustrates the loss of realism of many Thai individuals in "high posts"
It's time for these people to come back to reality.
And convince yourself that Thailand nowadays very often receives negative news for all kinds of things that have little to do with what she thinks foreigners think.
Another pathetic expression of ignorance.
