New music video by Aerk Lederer is causing a stir
An article on the website of Coconuts Bangkok stated that Ong-Art “Aerk” Lederer is once again in the news with a new sensational video clip.
You may not know him, he is a young man with a Thai mother and a German father who earns money from the trade / sale of a popular brand of "whitening cream". I couldn't find out if he or his parents run that business, but at least this Aerk has money to spend. Money is not enough for him (anymore), he wants to become “famous” at all costs. You know the expression: I don't care how they talk about me, as long as they talk about me!
Last year
At the beginning of last year he released the video clip “Pey”, (= perfect), a nice but not great song in the “luk thung” genre. The special thing was that he sings the song surrounded by a number of ladies who are only dressed in bras and panties and perform rather sexually tinted actions. They sensually rub their breasts, pour milk over their bodies, suck a banana and more of this stuff.
For us Westerners it is nothing special, but for the Thai, who are rather conservative outwardly, it goes much too far. Quite often it was believed that if you have to build a singing career in such a way, you can actually forget about it. In addition, the song fits into the beloved “luk thung” genre and Aerk has lowered this Thai country music to the level of an American pop song à la Lady Gaga with the recording. New video
Last week Aerk released a new video clip on the internet. The song and rhythm of the music is already a lot better, the entourage is almost identical to the earlier video clip. Half-naked ladies eyeing the camera, skirts blowing up so that the panties are visible, some body paint and again that banana dipped in chocolate. The Coconuts reporter thinks the music is deafening, it's not my type of music and it certainly won't make the Thai Top Ten
reach, perhaps the rhythm makes up for something in a Thai disco.

To compare this Aerk Lederer you really do Aerk too much credit. You can find Lady Gaga's music terrible or great. But you can't deny that this lady is a contemporary Madonna. The way she positions herself as a brand. On the other hand, the Aerk and its clip are not unoriginal vulgar.
For the record. I'm not a Lady Gaga fan. And certainly not from Aerk. But a fan of the beautiful ladies in the clip. 😀
