Holidays to Thailand sometimes also cause holiday stress
Vacation to eg Thailand supposed to be fun, but sometimes the stress starts before the travel has started.
Twenty percent of the Dutch people already have difficulty choosing the right destination and many wonder whether they have not paid too much for their holiday, according to a study by a Dutch travel organization.
Research
Research shows that holidaymakers mainly have many doubts and questions when orienting, searching and booking a holiday. For example, 64 percent consult holiday review sites in advance to hear from third parties what is being said about the holiday destination. Also, 22 percent want in advance information about what type of beach is at the holiday destination and 45 percent which towels/bed linen are present in the accommodation at the holiday destination. The Dutchman also wants to know how often cleaning takes place.
In addition, the presence of WiFi plays an important role in the choice of accommodation for 20 percent of Dutch holidaymakers.
In my opinion, those 20% of the Dutch are whiners, everything must be arranged in advance and especially wifi, imagine "no wifi" you can't do that to a person, can you??
Come on people a little self-reliance and a sense of adventure, don't be so afraid, it's not too bad afterwards and the advantage of organizing a trip yourself is that you can go somewhere else if you don't like it, if you book a package trip, you're stuck, even if you don't like it and the brochures are always more beautiful than reality.
Regards,
Lex K.
Well Lex, I'm not a whiner, but WiFi is important to me, the reason: I have an 89-year-old mother who would like to hear and see me regularly (Skype).
I can go on holiday without any fuss, know nothing, look up nothing, plan nothing in advance. It has its charm and is more adventurous. I have also walked many untrodden paths in the past. But every now and then (now that I'm getting a little older) I sometimes like to know more about certain regions. I never book package holidays as you call them
The fact that many people still follow the same well-trodden paths is evident from the responses of topics on the blog. I have asked for information about Rayong on at least 4 sites (because I want to live there), I have 1 (one) answer. Self-reliance and adventure, which is why so many people go to Pattaya or Chiang Mai, etc., etc. Don't get me wrong, I don't find anything wrong with that.
Everyone has to decide for themselves whether to spend their hard-earned money on what has been decided in advance ;;..or a la minute .
If you have to travel around the world, it would be better to spend a day in Giethoorn.
To begin with, where to? When there was no internet yet you came home from the travel agency with stacks of beautiful brochures, then the confusion was really great.
And if you didn't pay too much? Surely you have a budget available to you.
So it will be Turkey - all in (or so) or outside Europe.
But the annoying thing is that once a booking has been made, the whiners keep whining in their heads like: Didn't I pay too much? What is the most talked about on the plane and around the hotel? yes: what did you pay for this?
There should be a course: Learn to travel! A travel agency is now often ignored because it is so expensive ... but there are people who know their business and often last minute offers.
Incidentally, I always book online myself, but you have that after 20 years of Thailand holidays. 😉
I am such a happy person and oh yes: Happy New Year!
Frank F
When you read it like that you think pffff. But if you think about it, it's not that bad. You should not read it as someone who goes to Thailand for a few months every year, but someone who is going to a certain country for the first time. I can well imagine that you want to orientate yourself.
Yes, it can also be labeled as fun in advance. I also don't think that everything should be exhausted (such as which towels do they have there) Can you buy in Thailand, for example, with cartloads? And yes Wi-Fi is of this time. Can't do without it anymore. Thailandblog does not give tips for nothing, etc. Still to inform people. Then it is also nice if it is read.
All in all it's not too bad But don't stress, but like I said; “fun before”
Ruud
I also catch myself checking to see if there is WiFi available. I do want to be able to watch the news from the Netherlands, I think. But when I end up in a hotel with Wi-Fi, my use of it turns out to be minimal. You are mostly outside in Thailand anyway and when I'm already in my hotel room in the afternoon it's usually to take a quick shower and then get back on the road asap.
