Home » Research » Thailand in Top 10 most beautiful destinations in the world
According to a study by Sawadee among 2.000 Dutch respondents, Thailand is one of the 10 most beautiful destinations in the world.
The survey also shows that Dutch travelers prefer to go on holiday outside Europe. New Zealand is by far the most popular destination, followed by India and Myanmar.
Most beautiful world destinations
Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand and India are the most popular holiday destinations in Asia. In the Americas, the United States, Argentina and Costa Rica top the list. South Africa and Botswana represent the continent of Africa in the top 10 most beautiful world destinations.
New Zealand is the most beautiful world destination. Not surprising, because the country has spectacular volcanoes, tropical rainforests, vast mountain landscapes and white sandy beaches.
The Top 10 most beautiful destinations in the world:

Yawn! It's a shame that the Thailand blog posts such subjective studies on its site. Sawadee sounds like it has something to do with Thailand. So how reliable is an investigation into a country if that investigation is also conducted by an organization like Sawadee that represents the interests of Thaialnd? I think that if the Irish tourist board conducts a survey, Ireland will also show a certain desired outcome. Thailand is beautiful, but the beaches are overcrowded by mass tourism and I must honestly say, Vietnam is more authentic, less overrun by tourists, and also has beautiful beaches such as Ha Thieng, which is not crammed with hotels and where it is not black with tourists. As a tourist you are really in the minority there. I was married to a Vietnamese woman for years and therefore came there regularly. I can therefore compare Thailand very well with Vietnam and unfortunately, Thailand comes in second place. Thailand has become far too touristy, expats and retirees leave too much of a mark on Thai society, they are too clearly present and fortunately Vietnam attracts a different type of tourist than the many male tourists who visit Thailand mainly because of the sex industry. My current wife is Thai, but I prefer to go to another Asian country that is not as overrun with tourism as Thailand. Unfortunately, I would have preferred it to be different.
Somewhat strange reasoning. If this study had been sponsored by the TAT, Thailand certainly wouldn't have come in 10th place, don't you think? Sawadee is also a Dutch tour operator for long-distance travel.
No research is 100% objective. It starts with the question, which can be manipulated.
Nevertheless, this list shows how cosmopolitan the Dutch are. Something to be proud of as all these long-distance travels will have a positive influence on Dutch society
