When I decided to live permanently in Pattaya about 15 years ago, my Thai girlfriend and I looked for a suitable home. We wanted to get rid of staying in hotels first and then in a condo.

So we visited several real estate agents, first outside looking at photos, then a conversation inside the office. We have visited and viewed quite a few houses, but failed for all kinds of reasons.

Town & Country Property

The last in line of estate agents was Town & Country Property, then with an office in Thepprasit Road. To my considerable surprise, we were spoken to by a Dutchman, Cees Cuijpers. The contact immediately clicked, the conversation took place in a pleasant atmosphere and I immediately had every confidence in him to tell us as well and honestly as possible about the possibilities.

Successful

We were shown three houses, of which we chose one as the most suitable. Administrative matters were neatly handled by Town & Country and we moved in shortly after. I remember that a Town & Country Property employee visited again a few months later to see and hear if everything was okay, but we never had any contact after that. Now, 15 years later, we still live in the same house to our complete satisfaction and certainly have no plans to move.

Cees Cuijpers

To be honest, I had long forgotten the name of Cees Cuijpers, until I read an extensive interview with him on the Pattaya Trader website. He tells how he ended up in Thailand and how he developed from a restaurant owner and how he subsequently developed into the real estate industry. It is a fun and interesting story, which you can read yourself in English at: www.pattayatrader.com/

The Town & Country Property website

If the ideas of Cees Cuijpers, as he ventilates them in the interview, appeal to you and you may be looking for a good agency to realize your wishes for a home, take a look at the website: www.towncountryproperty.com

Highly recommended!

  1. Jacques says up

I had also bought my house almost 14 years ago and still with full satisfaction. Directly from a Thai owner. Be well informed in advance and with the necessary viewings. It was a considerable amount, so it didn't happen overnight. Certainly with the prices currently being asked for new construction and the increasingly smaller plots, it is no longer attractive to buy on that current basis as far as I am concerned. But for many, “a good example leads to good follow”. There is nothing like a reliable and expert advisor and a Dutchman too. So for those seeking, take advantage of it.
