The Thai Meteorological Department warns of a temperature drop of 2 to 4 degrees in the North, East, Northeast and Central Plains due to a high pressure area in China.

The rain in those areas will decrease, but the wind will increase considerably. Yesterday at Doi Inthanon in Chiang Mai the temperature dropped to 9 degrees.

The northern part of Thailand will experience unusually low temperatures for the time of year until Tuesday.

Heavy rain is forecast for parts of the South.

I have already prepared the fireplace. Hopefully the predictions will be correct and my neighbors will once again look on with some envy while they sit in the house with ice hats, scarf and coats.
When I came to live here in Chiangmai about 11 years ago, people were surprised that I had a fireplace built during construction. Since then they look less pityingly at that crazy farang.

What, do you really have a fireplace? a foresight and, above all, a sensible view there in the North!
But also a decent job seems to me to have such a situation built here in Thailand??

The developer/builder said he had built fireplaces before. So I had initially presented him with a somewhat more modern version (suck in air at the back to prevent/reduce drafts across the floor AND install pipes along the flue to suck in cold air from the room and through grilles at the top/just below the ceiling again the blow into the room).
Sucking in air from the outside has succeeded. Not with those pipes along the flue, because that was not explained to me.
Later I also had the shut-off valve (against cold air from outside when the fireplace is not on) removed, because it was mounted incorrectly, which caused smoke to enter the room when the fireplace was burning.
So it was all in all still a job to get it right.

        But it works now.

    This is called global warming.
    In CM this is counterproductive.
